Collins Osayamwen

Collins Osayamwen, CFM, is a Certified Facility Manager (CFM), with over
25 years experience in the facility management profession. Collins
earned a Master’s level certificate in Project Management, a Master of
science, from the University of Salford, Manchester, UK.
He is the Managing Partner/Senior Consultant of SheltercareFM Consult
based in Nigeria, Partner Business and Facilities, UK and founding partner
of a multi-national partnership called Corporate Real Estate Advisors”
(CREA). CREA Corporate Real Estate Advisors EEIG is an International
partnership providing Real Estate and Facility Management solutions to
multinational companies, optimizing centralized strategies while allowing
for individualized local practice.
He is enthusiastically and passionately committed to advancing the
performance of an organization’s two most valuable assets – the Work
force and the Workplace – by providing solutions that increase individual
competency, business sustainability, and organizational productivity. He is
responsible for providing facilities & asset management consulting and
support services to help clients and colleagues develop vision, strategies
and solutions that shape, improve and optimize the built environment

He has accumulated extensive experience in strategic facility planning;
facility management optimization strategy, infrastructure development
consultancy and FM Outsourcing, policy design and implementation of
solutions that helps clients improve and optimize their FM/Real Estate
processes.
Collins has worked with, developed and implemented leading
performance management frameworks as well as successfully improving
processes, driving new supplier relationship management techniques and
improving results in FM operations.
He has managed project based initiatives, front line operations and
staff functions. He draws on his experience and success on the
supplier and client side of managing FM services in large portfolios,
including outsourcing, contracting and supplier management.
He has managed facilities both in-house and with a large professional FM
outsourcing company in addition to his experience as a Facility
Management consultant. He has written large successful outsourcing
proposal responses, developed RFP documents for clients, transitioned
new services, implemented organizational change, developed Service
Level Agreements, Performance Management systems and
chargeback models, improved customer service, assessed services and
developed business strategy.
He has extensive experience in all aspects of Facility Management as well
as winning numerous awards for excellence and customer service for
his operations. He has delivered workshops for clients and seminars for
local and international associations and organizations. He has written
about strategic approaches to managing facilities in numerous Facility
and Property Management magazines globally.
He is championing the cause to institutionalize the FM profession and
development of the Facility Management industry in Nigeria and the
African continent. He is the Vice Chairman, Nigeria FM Initiative and
presently serves as the Euro FM Ambassador to Nigeria. Collins also serves
as a Chairman of the ISO41001 committee in Nigeria and a member of
the International Standards Organizations

Technical Committee (TC) ISO/TC 267 on Facilities Management. The work
of the committee has resulted in the publication of ISO 41000 series.
Collins joined the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) in
2004, and served in a variety of leadership roles at the chapter,
committee, and international board levels. He served on the team of FM
professionals who provided the subject matter expertise that validated
the job task competencies questions used for the Certified Facility
Manager exam.
Collins was appointed Director on the IFMA board of Directors 2013 –
2015), Collins, serves as a global liaison for Africa to IFMA’s Facility
Management Consultant Council. He is the first African to be awarded
IFMA’s Distinguished Member / Professional of the year 2011 – 2012. He is
an IFMA Fellow. He was inducted into the IFMA’s Fellow class of 2017.
He’s also frequently-requested to share his perspective on leadership,
facility management, and emergency management topics at industry
events around the world, to include the IFMA World Workplace, Japanese
Facility Management Association FORUM, and the European Facility
Management Conference.
