Dr Ezekiel Chinyio

I trained as a cost engineer and construction manager and then worked in industry for one year before going into academics. I lecture at graduate and post-graduate levels and have researched many aspects in construction, including procurement, clients’ needs, contractor selection, risk, stress and knowledge management. I have over 110 publications, including three books and several journal articles. I have presented many papers and chaired several sessions at international conferences, symposia and workshops. I have both participated in and managed funded research
projects as Principal Investigator. My wider interest includes seeing developments in sub-Sahara Africa wherein I held a workshop in 2019 in South Africa on using a multi-disciplinary approach to facilitate the development of more inclusive buildings. I launched the ‘Psychology in
Construction’ (Psycon) initiative to improve the versatility and wealth of tools and principles in the built environment.
