Simon Hirschfeld

Simon is an Associate Director (AD) for Deloitte Consulting based in Gaborone responsible for leading the Strategy and Operations business unit. He is a certified PRINCE2 practitioner and has 15 years’ experience across management consulting, strategy development and financial services investment promotion. Simon has delivered projects across information
technology, financial services, mining & energy and the public sector in infrastructure development. He has a Master of Science degree in Strategic Management from the University of Derby (UK) and a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Management and Technology from Syracuse University (NY, USA).

Simon has contributed to growing the consulting and advisory capabilities over the past years and currently oversees a staff complement of 24 professionals and manages a multi million Pula budget.
Simon plays a significant role in the growth, leadership and development of the overall consulting division and coordinates business development and service delivery efforts across Human Capital, Risk Advisory and Corporate Finance. In the 7 years he has been in the employ of DCB, some of the notable opportunities he has helped shape, lead and co-deliver with Botswana teams together with regional and international Directors and AD’s including:
► Development of Commercial Strategy and Regional Market Feasibility for Botswana Fibre Networks with SA and India MF’s
► Development of Group Corporate Strategy for Botswana Insurance Holdings Limited with SA MF
► Development of National Facilities Management Strategy for Government of Botswana with SA MF
► Pre-feasibility assessment for the rationalisation and privatisation of Air Botswana with Dubai MF
► Currently supporting the SA Mining leadership team on Lucara Diamond Mining Operational Transformation account plan with SA MF

Simon is currently facilitating the development of the firm’s 2025 Strategy that will focus on growing revenues and the following strategic objectives:
► Talent & Transformation
► Creating marketplace synergies
► Building advisory capacity
► Strengthening capacity building opportunities across the Southern Corridor and South Africa MF

Simon has strong relationships across private and public sectors of the economy and remains active in the pursuit of new opportunities to grow revenues for the consulting division. As a young Motswana, he has again put Deloitte Consulting on the map when he was recently appointed by the President of Botswana to serve as a member of a high level advisory committee, comprising leaders from the public and private sector, to advise the President and Government on Botswana’s transformation and economic development. Simon continues to serve on the Corporate Social responsibility committee, is actively engaged with staff at all levels and plays a major role in the attraction, development of talent and professionals.
